Remember Our Deceased

Dear Parishioners:

Our Good Lord allows us to begin the month of November, a month to remember our deceased relatives and friends and to pause and give thanks for the gifts received, enjoyed, and shared throughout this year—Thanksgiving!

As is the tradition in our Catholic Church, throughout this month we remember the blessed souls of our faithful departed. All Souls will be prayed for during these thirty days. The envelopes with the names of those who have died recently, and of those you would like to remember, will be placed on the altar as a reminder to me and to all of you that we will pray for them at every Mass.

I would like to take this opportunity once again to express my heartfelt condolences to the families who have lost a loved one during the past year. I know how difficult it is to fill the void they have left. Their memories remain alive in your hearts and in your daily lives. I pray that the Holy Spirit, the Consoler, may come to fill your hearts with His presence, strength, and peace.

For the faithful who are already in heaven, we humbly ask for their prayers. For those who await their entrance into heaven through a period of purification, we pray for them and ask the Lord to show them His mercy and love. May the souls of all the faithful departed, through the great mercy of God, rest in peace.
