Day of Prayer for the Legal Protection of Unborn Children

Day of Prayer for the Legal Protection of Unborn Children is on January 22.  Although Roe vs. Wade was overturned on June 22, 2022, state and federal laws are still hostile to unborn children.  Thus, all Dioceses of the USA on this day shall observe a day of prayer for the full restoration of the legal guarantee of the right to life and also of penance for violations to the dignity of the human person committed through acts of abortion.  Options of prayer and penance on this particular day are to attend Mass, pray the Divine Mercy, fast and abstain from meat, pray the Rosary, sacrifice some of your free time to be of service to another, and give up TV and movies for the day.

Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen:

“Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, I love you very much.  I beg you to spare the life of the unborn baby that I have spiritually adopted, who is in danger of abortion.”  Good to say this prayer daily.
