The second collection on May 16–17 for the Catholic Communication Campaign (CCC) supports an important ministry of the Church that reaches millions of people through television, radio, websites, social media, podcasts, livestreams, videos, and print media. The campaign is sponsored by the (USCCB) and exists to proclaim the Gospel in today’s digital world while ensuring that the message of Christ reaches people wherever they are — at home, online, traveling, searching for hope, or seeking answers about the Catholic faith.

The Catholic Communication Campaign helps fund Catholic media projects both nationally and locally. One-half of the funds collected remain in each diocese to support local communication efforts such as parish and diocesan websites, livestreamed Masses, Catholic radio programming, social media outreach, video production, and digital evangelization initiatives. The other half supports national and international Catholic communications projects that share the teachings of the Church and provide trustworthy Catholic news and spiritual resources.

Through the CCC, Catholics across the country are able to access daily Scripture reflections, livestreamed coverage of bishops’ meetings, educational videos, podcasts, and reports from the Vatican and around the world. The campaign also helps support Catholic News Service Rome coverage, online faith resources, and media projects in developing countries where the Church is growing but often lacks communication tools and funding. Grants from the campaign assist organizations that use modern media to spread the Gospel message and strengthen faith communities through evangelization and education.

In a world filled with noise, misinformation, and division, the Catholic Communication Campaign provides reliable Catholic voices rooted in truth, compassion, and hope. The Church recognizes that communication is not simply about technology — it is about connecting people with Christ and one another. Pope Francis has encouraged Catholics to use communication to “build bridges” and promote a culture of care and hope. Through this annual collection, parishioners become partners in sharing the Gospel message with people who may never walk through the doors of a church but may encounter Christ through a video, article, livestream, podcast, or online reflection.

The generosity of our parishioners helps the Catholic Communication Campaign fulfill its mission of love to share the Gospel message of hope with people across the United States and throughout the world. Every contribution helps the Church continue its sacred mission of evangelization using the tools of modern communication to inspire faith, strengthen communities, and bring the light of Christ to others.
