1st Holy Communion Class Retreat

Saturday, April 18, 2026, we had our 1st Holy Communion class retreat at Saint John Fisher Church in the early afternoon and here’s a picture of our class together with Fr. George. We’re missing one girl who couldn’t make the retreat. Our 1st Holy Communion Mass is May 2 at 11:00.

What a fun day! There were four stations the kids rotated through: assembling their Family Name Banner for their pew on the day of their 1st Holy Communion Mass, decorating a felt fish for the 1st Holy Communion Class Church Banner, completing a card with their picture on it showing why they love Jesus for the cardboard gold chalice that will be displayed in the church foyer, and seeing up close with Fr. George the sacred vessels they’ll see “in action” during Mass on their big day which will help them understand their purpose and relevance. Also, the kids practiced receiving Holy Communion with unconsecrated hosts so they’ll know what to expect regarding the texture and taste. And finally cake to celebrate this momentous occasion in their faith journey!
