Weekly Lenten Scripture Reflection with Deacon John 

Please join your fellow parishioners and Deacon John, following Tuesday morning Masses during Lent, for a guided scripture reflection lasting about 45 minutes. A great way to grow deeper in our faith.

Catholics who are unable to leave their homes due to illness or advanced age and would like to receive the Sacrament of Communion should contact the Parish office at 860-295-0001 and speak to Father George.

Purchase an “Easter” basket of your choice aka a laundry basket, household cleaning bucket or storage container and fill it with cleaning and laundry supplies or kitchen tools and supplies for those transitioning from homeless to a secure and sustainable housing situation. Please drop items off to church during the Lenten season.   

Praying the Rosary is a traditional Catholic prayer that combines repeated vocal prayers with meditation on key events in the life of Jesus and Mary (called mysteries). Using a string of beads, the person moves through prayers like the Our Father, Hail Mary, and Glory Be, while reflecting on one mystery at a time—such as the Nativity, Crucifixion, or Resurrection.

In short, it’s a rhythmic, meditative prayer meant to draw the person closer to Christ through Mary’s perspective.

In Catholic tradition, Adoration of the Eucharist (often just called Eucharistic Adoration) is a form of prayer where we worship Jesus Christ present in the Eucharist—the consecrated bread (the Host), which we believe is truly the Body of Christ.

Father George will offer additional reconciliation opportunities on Mondays during Lent from 5:00 - 6:00pm.  The regular weekly sacrament of reconciliation  continues on Saturdays from 3:00 - 3:30 pm.

Come Sing With Us!

We invite all youngsters in Kindergarten through Grade 6 to join our SJF Youth Choir.  These young people will sing at the Family Masses held on the fourth Sunday of each month at 8:30 a.m.  Choir practices will be on the fourth Wednesday of the month from 4:30-5:15 beginning October 22.
