Fr. George Mukuka

Born in Zambia, Africa, Fr. George S. Mukuka has lived in the USA for the past eighteen years. Fr. Mukuka studied at Holy Apostles College and Seminary in Cromwell, Connecticut, where he earned a Post-Master’s Degree in Theology in 2011. As a transitional deacon, he worked at Sacred Heart Parish in Bloomfield and was ordained on May 14, 2011, by The Most Reverend Archbishop Henry Mansell at St. Joseph’s Cathedral in Hartford.  

While attending Holy Apostles Seminary, he began his studies for a Licentiate Degree in Canon Law (J.C.L.) at the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC., which he completed in 2014. 

After ordination, he was appointed as Parochial Vicar of Saint Francis of Assisi in Naugatuck and worked briefly as a temporary Chaplain to the Sisters of the Apostles of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Hamden. Fr. Mukuka was then appointed Parochial Vicar, then Administrator, and finally Pastor at Saint Joan of Arc in Hamden, from 2012 to 2015.  

From October 2014 to June 29, 2025, Fr. Mukuka worked in the chancery and the tribunal of the Archdiocese of Hartford in various roles until he was appointed Pastor at Saint John Fisher on June 30, 2025. 

While he working at the chancery, he was priest-in-residence at Saint Elizabeth Seton in Rocky Hill (2015); Administrator at Saint Timothy Parish in West Hartford (2016-2017); Parochial Vicar at the Cathedral of Saint Joseph in Hartford (2019-2024); and lastly, from February to May of 2025, Fr. Mukuka was appointed Temporary Administrator at Saint Junipero Parish in South Windsor, with two churches: Saint Francis of Assisi and Saint Margaret Mary.
