Fr. Sas 50th Anniversary Celebration
Father Sas has reached a wonderful milestone—50 Years of Priesthood! We, at St. John Fisher, are privileged and honored to be able to celebrate his Priestly Golden Anniversary, We give thanks to the Lord for Father Sas’ dedication, care and attentive pastoral service to our parish during his 10 years as the spiritual leader of the St. John Fisher Parish Family. Furthermore, for 15 years Father Sas was in charge of the ongoing formation of the clergy in the Archdiocese of Hartford, in that capacity, he was also a counselor to the priests that underwent crisis in their vocation or particular, difficult situations. St. John Vianney has said “The priesthood is the love of the Heart of Jesus”, meaning that the priest is called to become a privileged instrument and living sign of Christ’s Heart toward His people. During his 50 years of priesthood, Father Sas has been that living sign for so many, including lay people and many brother priests.
After some health challenges, we are so grateful that Father Sas is now better and able to come to our parish for his celebration and the dedication of his pollinator garden. All are invited to attend the 10:30 am Mass on Sunday, November 1, in which Father Sas will be the Main Celebrant. I will have the honor to be at the altar as concelebrant. After Mass, a reception will follow along with the dedication of the St. John Fisher Pollinator’s Garden
