Consecration of the United States to the Sacred Heart of Jesus
As the United States of America commemorates the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 2026, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) joins this celebration by lifting up the contributions of Catholics and the impact of our faith on the history of this country.
In a historic moment, the U.S. bishops will consecrate the United States to the Sacred Heart of Jesus on June 11, 2026, and invite all parishes to join in this consecration.
In preparation for the celebration of the consecration, please join in praying the Novena to the Sacred Heart of Jesus with your fellow parishioners beginning on Wednesday, June 3rd. You may access the detailed novena at usccb.org/novena-sacred-heart-jesus with the following daily intentions:
June 3 – Heart of Jesus, aflame with love for us
June 4 – Heart of Jesus, source of justice and love
June 5 – Heart of Jesus, worthy of all praise
June 6 – Heart of Jesus, patient and full of mercy
June 7 – Heart of Jesus, fountain of life and holiness
June 8 – Heart of Jesus, atonement for our sins
June 9 – Heart of Jesus, source of all consolation
June 10 – Heart of Jesus, gentle and humble of heart
June 11 – Consecration of the United States to the Sacred Heart of Jesus
We will celebrate the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus with a Mass on Friday, 12th at 8:30 am with a special prayer said to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
We are also fortunate to have the framed image of the Sacred Heart of Jesus provided by the Knights of Columbus in our church during this time of preparation and consecration.
There are numerous other resources available at usccb.org/weholdthesetruths which provide meaningful and insightful materials to help us commemorate the 250th anniversary of our nation.
May God Bless Our United States of America
