Last month, you held a collection for gently used furniture and household goods to be used to furnish the apartments of our clients moving out of homelessness and into housing. Your drive completely filled our box truck and overwhelmed us with caring! The support you and your members have given to our organization, and our clients, is incredible and so very appreciated. We at Journey Home thank you sincerely for the generosity of your community.
We especially appreciate all the work and planning done by Donna Sawan. She was in constant communication with our program, and worked very hard to ensure that the items collected matched the current needs of our clients. This helps us to maximize our capacity to serve those moving out of homelessness.
As our Hands Up Program is completely dependent on donations and volunteers, your parish’s efforts made a huge impact. The items you collected will provide for many households, helping build a secure and comfortable home, which will support our clients’ goal of remaining stably housed.

Did you realize . . . One of the greatest traditions we have within the Catholic faith is having a Mass said for a loved one whether they are living or deceased. By doing this, we are offering Christ himself for the intention we indicate. Considering that the Mass is the highest form of communal prayer, offering a Mass up for a loved one is a beautiful expression of faith. Masses can also be said as an expression of gratitude, to celebrate a special occasion such as a birthday or as we are reminded by the Council of Trent: "for the living and the dead, for sins, punishments, satisfactions, and other necessities."
