Summer is a beautiful time to focus on growing your faith and creating a deeper relationship with God. Consider coming to daily Mass on MondayThursday at 8:30am. This is an incredibly powerful way to start your day in prayer and community.
Rosary Returns to Monday Mornings, 8:30AM
Online Rosary ~ How it Works … You can join us with video and/or audio turned off to anonymously be part of this morning prayer session if you’d like. Monday mornings, click on the Online Rosary link on our website around 8:25am. After a brief greeting, you will have an opportunity to offer prayer intentions. One person reads the rosary of the day and another person does the responses. Everyone else goes on mute and follows along. We rotate the Rosary, praying one of the these four mysteries:
The Joyful Mystery ~ The Annunciation, The Visitation, The Nativity, The Presentation, The Finding of Jeus in the Temple
The Luminous Mystery ~ The Baptisim of the Lord, The Wedding of Cana, The Proclamation of the Kingdom, The Transfiguration, The Institution of the Eucharist
The Sorrowful Mystery ~ The Agony in the Garden, The Scorging at the Pillar, The Crowning of the Thorns, The Carrying of the Cross, The Crucifixion
The Glorious Mystery ~ The Resurrection, The Ascension, The Decent of the Holy Spirit, The Assumption of Mary, The Coronation
Our liturgical calendar does not follow the calendar year, but instead focuses on six seasons including:
Advent - four weeks of preparation before the celebration of Jesus' birth
Christmas - recalling the Nativity of Jesus Christ and his manifestation to the peoples of the world
Lent - a six-week period of penance before Easter
Sacred Paschal Triduum - the holiest "Three Days" of the Church's year, where the Christian people recall the suffering, death, and resurrection of Jesus
Easter - 50 days of joyful celebration of the Lord's resurrection from the dead and his sending forth of the Holy Spirit
Ordinary Time - divided into two sections (one span of 4-8 weeks after Christmas Time and another lasting about six months after Easter Time), wherein the faithful consider the fullness of Jesus' teachings and works among his people
(taken from the USCCB website)
Each season also has different colors that correspond to the liturgical celebrations. You can tell the colors for each season by the vestments Father Sas wears and the colors on the altar. Can you guess the colors for Ordinary time?
The Saint John Fisher Parish would like to give a warm welcome to our new (K-8) Faith Formation Coordinator Melissa Jordan. Melissa is a long-time Faith Formation teacher here, and we are excited to have her now involved in the coordination of our program. We are eager to see all the upcoming changes in our Faith Formation program including an exciting new family-focused program. Stayed tuned for registration information for the upcoming academic year.
Thanks to your generosity to both our annual capital collections and the Hartford Bishops Foundation Forward with Faith Campaign, we are in a financial position to repair the left side and rear parking lots, as well as the ramps to the kitchen and St. Thomas More Hall. This work is being done to update a deteriorating surface and to address safety issues identified in our last audit. Work began this past Thursday, June 23rd. While the project is underway and for a period of time afterward (to allow pavement to set), these parking lots will be off limits. Thank you for your patience during this time!
The Center for Catholic Education & Formation and the Office for Catholic Social Justice Ministry of the Archdiocese of Hartford will sponsor a joint conference on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at the Omni New Haven at Yale. The theme, Dreaming Together: Forming Disciples for Faith and Justice, takes its name from “Let us Dream” by Pope Francis, who encourages us to dream of a better future. The conference will include educational and practical pieces on faith formation topics such as lifelong formation, parent involvement and kerygma, social justice issues, and Catholic social teaching. Attendees will gain skills in integrating social ministry and Catholic social teaching into classroom, parish and family life.
To The St. John Fisher family:
Your support, prayers and kindness throughout the years are overwhelming. The St. John Fisher community is truly part of my family. Patty and I are blessed and thankful to all of you for the beautiful Mass and reception celebrating my 45th anniversary to the diaconate, and what a celebration it was!! The thought and preparation put into the whole celebration was a remarkable collaboration!
“Remembering always, Jesus loves you and so do We.” ~Deacon John and Patty
As a parish family, we have been blessed with the dedication, creativity and faith-filled influence of Theresa Brysgel, as she directed and taught our Faith Formation program for grades 1 through 8. For five years, Theresa inspired and provided support to our team of instructors and weathered the many challenges of delivering education within the constraints and reality of COVID. Not only did Theresa expertly provide a coordinated and diverse program to the students, she also introduced family-focused events to include parents and caregivers, who are truly the faith coaches in bringing our faith into their homes and collective hearts. We are so grateful to Theresa and wish her all the best as she takes on new adventures. We are also blessed as Theresa, who brings a spirit of community involvement and service to all she does, will stay involved in our parish social activities and outreach efforts. Thank you, Theresa, from your St. John Fisher Parish Family and enjoy a well deserved summer season with your own family!
Congratulations to all the graduates in our St. John Fisher Parish Family!
Continue to let God guide you as you embark on this new chapter in your faith journey.

Thank you to our volunteers ~ Peg Fillaramo. Kurt Muscanel, Barbara Gaudette and Chris Warchut who removed the wallpaper in the rectory kitchen and living room. They did an awesome job and we are grateful for their time and effort, which got us going on our journey to spruce up the rectory for Father Sas.
As we celebrate Pentecost, may we reflect upon Pope Francis’ message on the power of the Holy Spirit when he said, “Jesus offers us heavenly comfort, the Holy Spirit” who is “the love of God,” the one “who makes us feel loved for who we are,” and “can give peace to our hearts.” How lucky we are that we are all filled, through our Baptism and then fortified in Confirmation with the incredible gifts of the Holy Spirit. Just as the disciples, received the Holy Spirit in the upper room at Pentecost, so too are we drawn closer to our heavenly Father, through this same spirit.
Our Saint John Fisher Parish Family is in need of your help. We are looking for Greeters and Readers for our weekend Masses.
