On June 14, we celebrate the Feast Day of St. Anthony of Padua, the patron saint of lost things.  In 1195, St. Anthony was born into a wealthy family in Lisbon, Portugal.  When he was 15 years old, he began studying to become a priest and at 19 he was ordained as a Franciscan Friar.  He became well-known for his ability to preach.  While he was in Italy, he drew the attention of St. Francis of Assisi who asked him to instruct new members of the Franciscan order in theology as they progressed towards ordination.  He played a major role helping the Franciscan order grow throughout Italy and France.  St. Francis died of natural causes at the age of 35 while returning to Padua.
