Palm Sunday, Year B

It’s a matter of perspective. It all depends on your point of view.

Is Jesus’ crucifixion humiliation or exaltation?

From the perspective and view of most, it was a shameful way to die.

For Jesus, it was a life-giving and life-saving act.

For some, they had to avert their eyes and had to get away from the spectacle. Even today a crucified God is a scandal.

For Jesus, he declared: “When I am lifted up from the earth, I will draw all people to myself.”

Was the crucifixion a humiliation or exaltation?

What is your perspective? What is your point of view?[1]

[1] It could be either. Or it could be both from our perspective and point of view: before the Resurrection it seems to be a humiliation; after, it became an exaltation making Jesus’ cross a sign of victory over sin and especially death.
