backpack3Let's start with a prayer for a safe and healthy re-entry to the school season for all our students, both locally and all those headed to various colleges and universities. As we have in past years, we are continuing the answer the call for backpacks and school supplies for our Marlborough Elementary School (MES) students and families needing a bit of extra support.
We have been asked to supply 14 filled backpacks with grade specific supplies. Since this year looks so different, instead of providing tags with the requested items, we are shopping for all the items ourselves and will ask for only monetary donations this year. This seems to be the best way to get the items to the school by the start of classes while allowing our generous parishioners the opportunity to still support this most meaningful need and ministry.
Please consider writing a check to St. John Fisher with a notation about the backpack drive - checks may be mailed to 30 Jones Hollow Rd or dropped off in the secure white mailbox on the left entrance side of the building. For those attending Mass, you may also deposit your donation into the collection basket, with a notation to the backpack drive. The monetary collection will take place for the next two weeks - please contribute no later than September 5th. The students, families and the shoppers thank you in advance for your support - if you have any questions feel free to contact This email address is being protected from spambots. gift bagAll parents of a child in college, any post-secondary schooling or the military; are invited and engouraged to enroll their child in our post-high sghool ministry. Several times a year we send out prayer bags complete with supportive messages from our parish, prayers and treats to college-aged parishioners. It doesn’t matter if your child will be living on campus or commuting virtually this year − let our parish family help support them on their journey. Saint MonicaHow beautiful that in August we celebrate St. Monica, mother of St. Augustine on August 27thand St. Augustine on August 28th.  As patron saint of mothers, St. Monica dedicated her life to raising a son grounded in his faith.  May we pray that as we prepare our children to go back to schools we will have the tenacity, determination, love and patience of St. Monica with our own children and that they too will be grounded in their faith and service to our God.

All teens and young adults are invited to follow the St. John Fisher youth Instagram Ministry account at
