Our St. John Fisher community has embarked on the Helping Hands project, a fun, educational, inspirational, and tangible way for us to answer Jesus’s call to love our neighbor. In partnership with Catholic Relief Services and Rise Against Hunger, Helping Hands provides us the mechanism to serve our neighbors in two ways: we will package 10,000 meals to provide immediate hunger relief in Burkina Faso, West Africa; and, we will fund income-generating projects to prevent hunger in order to make a lasting change in the lives of the poor. We ask you to prayerfully consider extending a helping hand to your neighbor in one or more of these ways: *Mark your calendar to help at the food packaging event (you do not need to commit to the entire time): Saturday, April 6, at St. John Fisher Church (Morning-Midday timing, pending CRS confirmation) *Get tickets to attend our Helping Hands Community Coffee House on Saturday, March 2, from 6:30-9pm in the Church Hall.
Enjoy the talent of parishioners and local musicians; sample local beer, wine or soda; enjoy delicious snacks; bid on silent auction prizes from The Bushnell, It’s So Ranunculus, Hartford Yard Goats, Essex Riverboat Cruise, Thomas Hooker, KidCity Museum...and more!! *Try your luck with tickets for our themed basket raffle . Tickets will be sold at Faith Formation on Feb.12, after all three Masses Feb. 23-24, and at the Coffee House event on March 2, or use the order form at the entrances to church.
