In this third full week of Lent, we bring our prayers to the Dhadcroos family that is rebuilding in Sri Lanka. During the Sri Lanken Civil War, they lived as refugees in India. Our faith reminds us that we are called to family, community and participation, and that means protecting families no matter where they live.

April 2019 Mens RetreatNo Ordinary Path12-14, 2019

Holy Family Retreat Team

God has called all of us to lives of holiness. No Ordinary Path will explore ways that we can be attentive, intentional, and cooperative with God’s grace in serving the world. Together we will take a journey, with the hope of discovering that who we are and what we do matters. We’ll reflect on how living an ordinary life of holiness can lead to extraordinary happiness and peace. The retreat begins with a buffet dinner from 6:00-7:30 p.m. on Friday evening and concludes with the celebration of Sunday Eucharist at 10:45 a.m. followed by a hot brunch at noon. Families of retreatants are most welcome to attend the Sunday mass and brunch at no extra charge.

A presentation with Sister Elissa Rinere

March 26th 9:15 am & 7:00 pm in the Church Hall.

We are all familiar with the Gospel passages telling of Jesus’ journey to Calvary and to death. This presentation provides an opportunity to spend time with these beloved passages, to perhaps see them with new eyes, to pray them in greater faith, and to come to understand Jesus’ journey and our own more clearly.

CRS logoIn this second full week of Lent, we bring our prayers and reflection to the people in South Sudan and a woman named Annet who fled violence with her three siblings. She now lives in Bidibidi, one of the world's largest refugee settlements located in Uganda. Our faith calls us to exercise a preferential option for the poor, especially refugees like Annet. Please remember to use your Operation Rice Bowl by placing your change aside and continuing on this Lenten journey of prayer, fasting and almsgiving.

We are the hands and feet of Jesus!

Join us for an engaging panel discussion on Immigration & Catholic Social Teachings on Thursday, March 21, 2019 from 7-8pm. Panel members include: Arturo Iriarte, from the Office of Catholic social Justice Ministry, A DREAMer, a mom and Al Dornan from Rocky Hill, who walks two miles every day for DREAMers. All parishioners are invited to come learn about Catholic social teaching and reflect upon the journey of our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ.

“Peace be with you!” With these words, the Risen Lord greeted his frightened Apostles in the Upper Room on the day of his Resurrection. Christ repeated the words, “Peace be with you.” Then he added, “Receive the Holy Spirit. Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them.” (Jn 20:19-23) What an extraordinary gift-the gift of divine forgiveness! This year, prepare for Easter by receiving the Sacrament of Reconciliation. During Lent, every Catholic Church in the Archdiocese of Hartford will be open on Mondays for Lenten Confessions.
