Our Lady of Sorrows

On September 15, we remember when our Blessed Mary was bestowed the title of Our Lady of Sorrows to acknowledge the pain and suffering she felt throughout her life.  Simeon prophesied when he saw Jesus as He was presented to the Temple that Blessed Mary’s soul would be pierced with a sword.  Our Lady of Sorrows is represented with seven daggers piercing her heart to represent the Seven Sorrows she suffered throughout Jesus’ life.
