The St. John Fisher Community Garden has been put to rest for the season after having a remarkable harvest for the 2016 growing season. Many tomatoes, carrots, green beans, peppers, lettuces and basil were grown and donated to the town of Marlborough Food Bank. In total, our garden donated over 235 pounds of vegetables!!
A big thank you to all of our faithful volunteers who came to help out on Monday evenings and also to the indispensable volunteers who helped to keep the garden watered on this very hot, dry summer. Your participation was much appreciated.
The garden committee will start making plans for next year in the spring of 2017 and we hope that more parishioners will get involved. It is a great way to help others and you do not need to be a gardener to join in. All ages and abilities are welcome. Hope to see you in the spring!
