St. John Fisher Roman Catholic Church

30 Jones Hollow Road, Marlborough, CT 06447

The St. John Fisher Confirmation Program begins in 9th grade with a year of preparation before students receive the Sacrament at the beginning of their 10th grade year.  The program consists of a series of sessions that draw young people into a deeper faith as they enter into full membership in the Catholic Church.

Elements of the program:

•    Choosing a Sponsor to provide spiritual guidance throughout the sacramental journey
•    Choosing a Saint Name that represents something meaningful to the candidate
•    Completed Christian Service Projects totaling 14 hours

The Confirmation Community's

Annual Help Us Help Others
collection is scheduled for Saturday, April 28th from 11:30-3:00pm.

All donations will benefit organizations that we support during the year. Items to donate include: household items in good condition such as dishes, glasses, flatware, towels, linens, lights, furniture, as well as books (no reference or text books please). Please be sure all your donations are clean and in working order.

The holiday season was a busy one for the Confirmation Community, actively living out their call to discipleship.

A few ways we did this include:

  • Making sandwiches for the clients at House of Bread
  • Baking and decorating cookies with the children at the Hartford Catholic Worker House
  • Making Christmas decorations for Adelbrook
  • Decorating gingerbread houses for the Marlborough Health Care Center
  • Helping at the family party at the MHCC
  • Making no-sew blankets for children in shelters
  • Wrapping Christmas gifts for the clients at MHCC
  • Making candy bags for Immacare and House of Bread
  • Worked with other parishes to make Christmas bags for the clients at Immacare.

Please continue to pray for these amazing young people as they fully embrace their faith by letting God’s light shine through them as they build community and relationships with others.

candyA Special Thank You to all parishioners who donated leftover Halloween Candy so that it can be enjoyed by our brothers and sisters at House of Bread and Immacare Shelter.

The Confirmation class is once again making Christmas bags for the men at Immacare Shelter and is in need of decks of playing cards. Anyone interested in donating playing cards may leave them in the baskets at the church entrances. We are also continuing to collect gently used beanie babies, small stuffed animals and fiction books (children & adult) for various Confirmation service projects.

candyThe Confirmation class is once again collecting any leftover Halloween Candy.

We will use the candy to make treat bags for various shelters and warming shelters. All candy can be left in the marked containers in the vestibule of the church.
